HO 53ft Wabash Plate Trailer: Heartland Express #8625
From Athearn:
Once the US Department of Transportation declared that all “national networks” (US and Interstate highways) and “all other networks within ten miles” must allow the operation of 53-foot semitrailers without requiring special permits for length, the industry was quick to adopt the now-ubiquitous 53-foot vans. One of the first 53-foot vans was the Wabash Plate Trailer in the late 1990s.
